What is ServiceBasket New Zealand?
ServiceBasket is an online exchange place for services. It is designed to facilitate and accelerate the process of coming together the clients and suppliers of a particular service. Here, demand and supply meet together. It is quick, convenient and efficient.
As a customer why spend time browsing through profiles of various companies, contractors and suppliers or shop around calling them up with your request for a quote? Instead you can simply place one ad stating what service you need to have done and you will be contacted with an offer directly.
How does ServiceBasket work for service seekers?
The underlying goal of ServiceBasket is to link service seekers (customers) with service providers (contractors) and promote their business on the internet through advertising a profile and services.
If you are a service seeker you refer to the "Service Orders" blue section. When you have a job, task or project to be done, simply 'Post your Service Order'. You will get the greatest exposure you can think of and make sure you hire the best contractor for the job! The very same second you post your ad, ServiceBasket sends an email to all contractors informing them a new Service Order was added to the category they have listed and specialize in. This is great, you do not need to look for a contractor, instead they will come directly to you. You save time and money. You just pick the best service provider and remember - you do not have to choose anyone. It is easy, convenient and free!
How do I post a Service Order?
Posting a Service Order is free. You have two options when posting an ad. You may post as an unregistered or registered user.
To post an ad as an unregistered user:
1. Click on the "Post your Service Order" link under the "Service Orders" blue category.
2. Choose a category for your ad.
3. Enter a title, budget (if applicable), and service/project/job description. You have the option of uploading photos. Entering your email address is required (it will not be shared with others). You can also enter your phone number. Entering your City/Province/State and postal/zip code is also required. Entering your address (street or intersection) and map address is also an option.
4. Click on the "Next" button. After reviewing your ad you can choose to "next " or "back" the ad.
5. Finally, check your email for a message from ServiceBasket. Click the link to verify your email and your ad will appear on the site within a few minutes.
To post an ad as a registered user:
1. If you are already a registered user, simply sign in to your account on the right hand side. If you wish to register click on "Register".
2. To create an account, fill all required fields.
3. To complete registration, click on the link in the email that we sent to you at the email address you entered. Make sure to check your spam or junk mail folder if you don't see our email immediately.
4. Your account has been created! As a registered user, you can manage your ads without going through your email, and you don't need to verify your email address each time. Just be sure to sign in whenever you come to the site!
How long can my Service Order stay on ServiceBasket?
Your ad duration is solely up to you and depends on your needs but it can be between 7 and 90 days.
How do I promote my Service Order?
When posting a Service Order you can choose from the promotion options that we have available for you. You simply mouse click and checkmark any of the below options:

-Top of the List
- Urgent
-All in One
What is a service agreement?
Service Agreement is a contract between you, a service seeker (customer) and service provider (contractor) for the service that if being offered and agreed on. The terms of the job are being agreed on solely between the two parties involved, with no interference and involvement of ServiceBasket. We provide you with the tools to find a contractor for the service needed and make you two connect, then please use your discretion to get the job done.
How does feedback / rating work?
After the contractor provides you with a service, as a customer you can evaluate and rate their performance. There is a maximum 5 points (stars) that you can give them for each of the following rating criteria:
- Quality of work
- Expertise
- Cost
- Schedule
- Response
- Professionalism
The points combined represent the average rating for a particular job which is 4.70 in the example below
Additionally, you can also provide comments about the service you received.
The rating/feedback feature can be extremely beneficial for service seekers when looking for a service provider as they make the hiring decision easy. Reviews are available in the ‘Rating and Comments’ section of each contractor’s Profile.
Do I need to register?
Registration is not mandatory but it is highly recommended. Registered users can benefit from a variety of features that unregistered users do not have access and exposure to.

What is Basic Profile?
Basic Profile is created by a service seeker. It includes information on an individual or company service seeker such as contact info, address or map. The user chooses which information is displayed or hidden on their profile. Basic Profile also gives a service seeker the opportunity to show their avatar or motto.
How do I manage my Service Orders and account?
‘My Service Basket’ account includes features that enable you maintain and manage your ads with ease. Under ‘Hire >> Posted Service Orders’ you can see the breakdown of all your ads into ads that are active (linked to ‘Choose the Best Offer’ and then “Feedback’), expired and removed. Thanks to that you will know exactly where you are with your ads and how you stand with your work at any time.You also have access to your Service Requests divided by sent requests, quotes that need to be accepted, quotes already accepted and quotes that have been withdrawn. A reminder to leave feedback is also included here.
What do I pay for?
Using ServiceBasket is generally free. What we ask you to pay for are extra features that include ad and company profile promotion options.
Is using ServiceBasket safe?
We do what we can to keep your personal information safe, but problems happen.
How do I use the discussion forum?
ServiceBasket enables you to find and participate in a forum of your interest. You can search for a forum by category, can create and access your own forum, view our most popular forums and set up the so called ‘watched topics’ which are topics that you are interested in. All of this can be accessed by clicking the ‘Forum’ button on the upper right corner.
Can I advertise on ServiceBasket?
Yes, ServiceBasket wants you to grow your business and advertising is the basic way to achieve that. You can advertise yourself through creating a profile or you can Contact Us to purchase banner space on our website.
What to do if I forgot my username/password?
No worries. If you forgot your username or password simply go to the Sign In page and click on "Forgot your UserName OR Password? You will be asked to enter your email address in the provided field and just within seconds you will be sent an email with the reminder of your username. For password you will get an email with the link through which you will be able to set up a new password.
How do I get a deal on ServiceBasket?
As a service seeker you can decide what works for you best. You can either post a Service Order and wait for contractors to contact you with their offers or you can search for a contractor yourself by browsing through their profiles and services. Once you have selected more than one potential service provider you can check their rating and make your decision on who to hire.
How do I search for service offers?
Generally there are two approaches on how you want to get your offers. One approach is to post a Service Order yourself and wait for contractors to respond with their offers while the other option is to search for service providers yourself. This can by done by searching by category and/or location.
