Service Description

Take care of your roof and your roof will take care of your property

A traditional flat roof just isn’t built to last, unlike our range of outstanding flat roofs. Our flat roofs are fitted with guarantees of either 15, 20 or 25 years, which are insurance-backed for total peace of mind, and have life expectancies of up to 50+ years.

We are manufacturer-approved installers of a number of leading systems, from modified bitumen, thermoplastic membranes to reinforced liquid coatings, and we provide a first class service throughout New Zealand.

Below are some of the systems that we approve and use on new roofs and roof refurbishments:

Double Layer Torch-on Bitumen Membrane System

- For new and renovation application, commercial or residential buildings.
- Bitumen membrane is ideal for all types of flat roofs, decks and balconies, small or large areas.
- Can be applied to plywood or concrete subtract.
- The membrane is designed to be left exposed; protection of the membrane is optional.
- Not suitable for places with walking traffic as membrane may  become damaged.
- Membrane finished top, can be mineral or paint-coated with a variety of colours to choose from.
- Can be installed with design for vapour distribution to allow vapour transmission under waterproofing.    This prevents bubbles of trapped vapour under the waterproofing membrane.
- Fire Retardant option available on demand for building fire-safety.

* Our applicators carefully seal around penetrations, vents, skylights, dormer windows and chimneys to ensure a leak-free roof.

What is Torch On Roofing?

Torch On Roofing generally consists of two plies of Modified Bitumen Membrane. Each ply, or layer, is approximately 3 – 4 mm thick.

The base ply is either mechanically secured (with screws through large washers referred to as “plates”) or attached to the substrate by applied heat.

The cap sheet is similar in composition, but often has a granulated surface to provide protection from the elements.

Both the top surface of the base sheet and the bottom face of the cap sheet have a thermo-fusible plastic surface (meaning they can be joined together – or fused – thermally, in this case by melting both surfaces with a propane torch), thus the term “Torch on Roofing”.

- Ideal for large roofs with minimum detail; used mostly for commercial         buildings but can also be applied on residential building.
- Not suitable for decks or places with walking traffic; membrane finished top can be slippery.
- Membrane sheets are particularly environmentally-friendly and recyclable. - Fast to install and safe to use; Hot Air Application - no naked flame needed on installation.
