Complete Infrared Services
Aaron has spent the last 20 years in the building industry. 16 years building experience in Toronto, Canada culminated in his own successful renovation company “Kiwi Kontracting” which specialized in modernising and renovating some of Toronto’s lovely old homes and historical buildings. Since moving back to New Zealand in 2006, he has trained and become certified in thermography – a technology that he had seen in use in Toronto for a number of building diagnostic purposes. He is now one of a very small number of ITC Level 2 Certified Thermograher who enjoys furthering his education in this field. In 2008 he also began training as a “HERS” assessor with ABSA the “Association of Building Sustainability Assessors”. This is the new energy star rating system for your home. The “HERS” system enables us to assign a star rating to your house’s energy efficiency in much the same way your refrigerator has a energy star rating. Infrared Solutions brings a wealth of practical experience in the building and construction industry which, combined with the latest thermography technology, offers cost-saving and useful services over a range of applications. It was seeing the diagnostic potential of technology while working in Canada that led Aaron Bryant to train as a certified thermographer on his return to New Zealand. He is now able to use this innovative technology.
Video Borescope (Trotec)
Our “Trotec” borescope enables us to carry out visual inspections in places that are otherwise virtually inaccessible or extremely difficult to reach. This tool also allows us to document and save the inspection results not only as a photo but also as a video that you can watch at will on an external monitor or transferred to a PC for further processing.
Digital Acoustic Microphone (Xmic)
Our “Xmic” digital acoustic microphone enables us to conduct plumbing waterleak inspections using multiple different technologies to help confirm the locations of leaks. The “Xmic” is an advanced, electronic ground microphone designed to amplify the noise generated by water escaping from buried supply pipes under pressure. Identifying the position of the loudest leak noise indicates the position of the actual leak itself.
Designed for non-destructive inspection of concrete our equipment uses radio waves and electromagnetic signals to detect structures in concrete. Results provided on site in real time, with the ability to record and export data for advanced analysis and report preparation if required. Rapid scanning generates 2D and 3D imaging on-site, using the advanced data processing software embedded in our system. Results immediately assist with engineering and construction decisions.
We have penetration & capacitance moisture meters at our disposal, which can provide moisture meter readings from a number of building materials to help with our analysis. The capacitance meters work on a principle of comparing die-electric constants with areas containing moisture/water and do not leave any holes in the surface we are looking at, this makes them ideal for use in conjunction with a infrared camera for a pre-purchase house inspection.
